IME joins Asian Bitumen conference

TEHRAN (ISNA)- For the first time in bitumen conference history, a delegation from Irans Mercantile Exchange (IME) participated in the bitumen conference in Singapore sponsored and organized by Argus Media Group.
According to the international department of IME, the delegation comprising IME officials and 4 brokerage companies participated for the first time in this event shedding light on different aspect of IME bitumen export market. The presence of IME alongside the petroleum industry renowned brands like Shell, Petronas, Nippon Oil, TOSAS, Trafigura, BinasEnergy and many big names in the refinery and bitumen market was welcomed by the delegates from other countries.

The conference shed light on different aspect of production, market, import and export and logistics of bitumen and trading and provided venue for networking of the industry people to introduce and develop their markets. IME delegation which was recruited by the brokerage firms elaborated on success story of export bitumen trades in IME while brokers embarkedon restoring old customers and marketing their services to the new clients.

During the conference IME representative delivered speech on IME operation and its role in Iran's economy. The speech followed by the Q&A of the audience which were curious to know more about IME activities, brokers, clearing house and settlement and delivery processes. Admission of foreign bitumen producing companies was among other issues dealt with in the conference. Iran is the third largest bitumen producer in Asia and ranks 8th in the world. Iran Mercantile Exchange is the largest exchange venue trading bitumen in the world.
