TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran is producing UV lamp for the first time in the country, said Head of Equipment Department of Iran's Shiraz Medical Sciences University Abolfazl Hashemi.
Iran would be the 5th largest producer of this type of lamp as it accomplishes the production process, he said, 95 percent of the process has been finished and the final tests are underway.

Japan, Italy, Germany and the US have already produced the lamps so far, he said, adding the country aims at manufacturing Ct Scan lamps by making the rays lamps, since it takes 3-4 months to produce new Ct Scan lamps when the life span of the old ones are over.

According to Hashemi, the country will have mass produced the lamps by next year.
