Iran MPs to visit Fordow, Natanz nuclear sites

Iran Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee is set to visit the nuclear enrichment facilities in Fordow and Natanz, an Iranian lawmaker says.

Seyyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, the spokesman for the committee, said on Sunday that the parliamentary body, which visits nuclear facilities in the country on a periodic basis, will visit the Natanz and Fordow enrichment plants in central Iran on Monday.

During such visits, the parliamentary delegation is briefed on the activities going on in the nuclear facilities and looks into the issues there, said the Iranian lawmaker

In August, Former head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi said the Islamic Republic has a total of 18,000 centrifuges, 10,000 of which are currently running.

According to Abbasi, “Nearly 9,000 centrifuges at Natanz enrich uranium below five-percent grade and more than 700 centrifuges at Natanz and Fordow enrich uranium to 20-percent level simultaneously.”
