President Rouhani meets group of American intellectuals

TEHRAN (Tasnim) A group of American intellectuals from different think-tanks had a meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in New York, during which they exchanged ideas on various issues ranging from Iran-US troubled ties to nuclear talks and international developments.
President Rouhani received the US thinkers and intellectuals in his residence on the third day of his stay in New York.

The Iranian president is in New York this week for the UN General Assembly, and has held talks with many top officials from different countries, and given interviews to US media.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Rouhani called for time-bound framework for the resolution of the dispute the West has had with Iran over its nuclear program for a decade.

"The only way forward is for a timeline to be inserted into the negotiations that is short. The shorter it is the more beneficial it is to everyone. If it is three months that would be Iran's choice, if it is six months that is still good. It's a question of months not years."

But, as Rouhani pointed out, the resolution of the nuclear standoff is just the begining point.

"After resolution of the nuclear issue there are no impossibilities in term of advancing other things forward. Everything is possible after the settlement."
