Iran reduces price of medicine for refractory diseases

TEHRAN, Sep. 24 (MNA) The Iranian Health Ministry has brought down the prices of medicines for refractory diseases to the level of last year, ISNA quoted Food and Drug Organization chief Rasoul Dinarvand as saying on Monday.
Since last year the price of medicine, especially foreign-made ones, has increased sharply due to the devaluation of the national currency against the dollar.

Moreover, Iran has faced a scarcity of certain medicines due the financial sanctions imposed on the country for its nuclear program.Although the sanctions do not directly target medical supplies, many pharmaceutical companies refuse to sell medicine to Iran, fearing the financial consequences.
