Rouhani scheduled to deliver speech in UN annual meeting

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani would leave for New York on Sunday to join the 68th UN General Assembly meeting and is scheduled to deliver speech on Tuesday in the assembly meeting.
Rouhani is also planned to meet with officials and heads of states of other countries.

The Iranian President would take part in the Nuclear Disarmament conference scheduled for Thursday as Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) President.

He would also deliver speech in the NAM foreign ministers meeting.

"We want to express directly our positions in the UN General Assembly on foreign policy, international issues, including nuclear and regional issues. We expect the world to hear our voice," he in an interview with NBC news channel, reiterating that Iran has never sought building nuclear bomb.

Rouhani is also scheduled to meet with his French counterpart Francois Hollande on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting. This is the first meeting between Iranian and French presidents since 2005.

The US President Barack Obama and Rouhani are scheduled to deliver speech in the conference on Tuesday.

The annual meeting kicks off on Tuesday 9:00 am at New York local time.
