Iran through with pipeline laying in 3 phases of South Pars Gas Field

TEHRAN (FNA)- Construction of 670 kilometers of seabed pipeline which will transfer sour gas from South Pars gas field phases 12, 17 and 18 to gas processing plants in the onshore sector is over.


Deputy managing director of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) Amir Saeed Najafi Haghi made the remarks adding phase 12 with production capacity of 3 bcf/d is the largest gas phase in the Persian Gulf.

He added 440 km of gas pipeline had been laid down for transferring gas from Phase 12 to onshore sector while the length of gas pipeline at phases 17 and 18 stands at 230 km.

Najafi continued: IOEC is responsible for construction of offshore facilities of the three phases including platforms and seabed pipelines.

IOEC has completed construction of all the five platforms of the three mentioned phases and has completed installation one of them in offshore sector, Najafi told Shana.

'Upon completion, phases 12, 17 and 18 will increase gas production capacity of the country by 4 bcf/d,'' according to IOEC official.

Najafi referred to Iranian minister of petroleum, Zanganeh, stress on picking up launching South Pars gas field phases 12, 15, 16, 17 and 18, adding IOEC has performed all its obligations for brining into production the phases.

'There is no doubt that providing financial needs and conducting drilling at due time will speed up implementation of remaining work,'' Najafi noted.

In his recent visit to South Pars gas field phases, Zanganeh stressed on sooner implementation of the phases as well as payment of contractors arrears in order to solve their problems for implementation of the projects.
