Iranian cineastes celebrate National Day of Cinema at IHC

TEHRAN --The Iranian House of Cinema (IHC) hosted a celebration of Irans National Day of Cinema on Thursday.
The Iranian House of Cinema (IHC) was reopened on the Irans National Day of Cinema after a forced shutdown of about two years. Attending the event was Iran Cinema Organization Managing Director, Hojjatollah Ayyubi, who is also the deputy culture minister for cinematic affairs and several other cineastes.

The Iranian House of Cinema was not dissolved but it had only been shut down, Ayyubi said during the event.

I believe that government, cineastes and people are three main principles of cinema so if we yearn for a powerful cinema, we should promote trust and cooperation between these three, he added.

He said that a successful cinema should have various genres of films for people with different tastes.

Bahman Farmanara,Rakhshan Bani-Etemad, Ahmadreza Darvish, Kiumars Purahmad, Golab Adineh, Mahtab Keramti, Hmayun Ershadi and Hushang Golmakani were among the attendees of the event.

The IHC, which is the guild of Iranian cineastes, was disbanded in early January 2012by the former minister of culture and Islamic guidance, Mohammad Hosseini.

Hosseini had accused the IHC officials of establishing the guild without legal formalities and other illegal acts.
