Moscow, Sept 9, IRNA -- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Monday that Moscow and Tehran will do their utmost to solve Syrian crisis through diplomatic means.
In a meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister for African and Arab Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian in Moscow, he added that the two countries priority is a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis through talks and diplomacy.

The Russian senior diplomat stressed that resorting to diplomatic solution and dialogue is the prerequisite to establish peace and stability in the region.

Rejecting military intervention against the Arab state, Bogdanov underlined that all efforts should be made to solve the Syrian crisis through diplomacy.

Amir Abdollahian said for his part that Tehran and Moscow have common stance regarding Syria issues.

He hoped that military scenario for solving Syrian crisis will be prevented in light Russian concerted efforts.

The war rhetoric against Syria intensified after foreign-backed opposition forces accused the government of President Bashar al-Assad of chemical attack on the suburbs of Damascus on August 21.
Damascus has strongly denied the accusations, saying the attack was carried out by the militants themselves as a false-flag operation.
On August 31, US President Barack Obama said he has decided that Washington must take military action against the Syrian government.
