Iran is a great, independent country with a historic identity and civilization, which is influential in political equations and the anchor of stability in the region, Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said on Wednesday.
He said the Iranian Armed Forces will use their progressive military capability to deter threats from arrogant powers, protect the countrys national interests, and promote peace and stability for other independent nations and allies.
Esmaili recalled the sacrifices the Iranian nation has made to achieve independence and freedom, stressing the need for preventing any enemy domination and protecting independence in all fields as unwavering tenets of the Islamic Republic.
He highlighted Irans military achievements over the past years, noting how the country has managed to design and produce modern defense systems and equipment in the face of illegal Western sanctions.
Today, we have achieved self sufficiency in the field of air defense, in the design and production of different kinds of active and passive radar systems: different data collecting sensors, communication, command and control systems, and different types of surface-to-air battery and missile systems to counter various threats, he stated.
The commander condemned the meddling of foreign powers in the internalaffairs of other countries, and denounced their role in the ongoing crises in North Africa and the Middle East.
He also downplayed Israels claims of having an invincible army, recalling how missiles fired by Lebanese and Palestinian resistance fighters proved Tel Avivs so-called Iron Dome permeable.
The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the hollow power of the global arrogance and the occupying (Israeli) regime is mere propaganda imposed on the worlds public by media giants, and thus they will not be able to resist the massive wave of people, the nations power of faith and solidarity, he added.
