Tehran, Sept 5, IRNA An informed source in the Iranian foreign ministry strongly rejected news claims on a possible meeting between Iran's Presiddent Hassan Rouhani and the British Foreign Secretary William Hague.The source explained that the remarks made by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif came only in response to a question posed to him about Hagues readiness to have a meeting with him at the sideline of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday, Zarif responded to a question about the request of the UK foreign secretary to have a meeting with him.
He said he had no problem with meeting with his British counterpart, noting that the request has been forwarded by Hague and he was ready to hold such a meeting within the framework of mutual respect and joint interests.
