Turkish president urges consultations with Iran, Russia over Syria: TV

Ankara, Aug 31, IRNA Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Saturday stressed the need for further efforts to be made to find a diplomatic solution to Syrian crisis, urging consultations with Iran and Russia, according to Turkish state television.
He reiterated that military intervention in Syria will bring further bloodshed.

Turkey is willing to put an end to the Syrian crisis so as to prevent a situation that could run out of control, Gul said.

Ankara has backed terrorist groups including al-Qaeda in Syria, along with Saudi Arabia and Qatar since 2011, the beginning of the civil war in the country and now is concerned about the spread of war into Turkey as the US is building support for a military attack on Syria.
