A Russian aircraft carrying humanitarian aid for Syria has landed in the port city of Latakia and will bring back the Russian nationals wanting to leave the Arab country.
Russia�s Emergency Ministry spokeswoman Irina Rossius said the plane has landed in Latakia airport on Tuesday with 20 tons of food and humanitarian aid.

The plane would bring back 180 citizens of ex-Soviet states, including 100 Russian nationals, on its flight back to Moscow, the spokeswoman added.
"On the way back, the plane will take Russians and citizens of ex-Soviet states who have made clear a desire to leave the country," she was quoted as saying by the Russian news agencies.
In July, Russia sent two planes carrying 70 tons of humanitarian aid for Palestinian refugees living in Syria.

The Russian government also sent 30 tons of humanitarian supplies to the crisis-hit Syria to help the victims of the conflict in April, and dispatched 26.7 tons of aid for Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

The Tuesday�s flight came as a number of Western countries, including the US, France and the UK adopted the rhetoric of war over accusations that the Syrian government has used chemical weapons.

On August 21, the militants operating inside Syria and the foreign-backed Syrian opposition claimed that 1,300 people had been killed in a government chemical attack on militant strongholds in Damascus suburbs of Ain Tarma, Zamalka and Jobar.

The Syrian government, however, categorically rejected the baseless claim, and announced later that the chemical attack had actually been carried out by the militants themselves as a false flag operation.
