Iran's position on US "entirely clear": Zarif

Iran Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says Tehrans stance on the United States is entirely clear although some official visitors bring up the subject in their talks with Iranian authorities.
Speaking to reporters after seeing off Omani monarch, Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, at Tehrans Mehrabad Airport on Tuesday, Zarif said, Some [visiting] friends have had conversations with American officials and occasionally raise the subject [of Iran-US relations] during our talks.
Our position [regarding the US] is totally clear and is the same stance as mentioned by the Leader of the [Islamic] Revolution [Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei] and President [Hassan Rouhani], he added.
Zarif further described the results of Sultan Qaboos official visit to Iran as very good, saying that important agreements were signed between the two countries.

The top Iranian diplomat also emphasized that the Omani monarchs meetings with Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani were very constructive, adding that different regional and international as well as bilateral issues were discussed during the meetings and we hope to witness the outcome in the improvement of regional conditions.

Zarif rejected any connection between Sultan Qaboos Tehran visit and the concurrent visit of UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman to Iranian capital.

He also expressed satisfaction with his talks with the senior UN official.

Zarif and Feltman held official talks in Tehran on Monday and discussed leading regional and international issues, particularly the developments in Syria, Lebanon and Egypt.
