Tehrans US stance crystal clear: FM

Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif Tuesday said Irans US stance is crystal clear and is discussed in talks with any foreign official visiting Iran.
Speaking to reporters at the end of the seeing off ceremony of Sultan Qaboos of Oman, the minister said the issue of US is a major topic raised by all friends who visit Iran.

Sultan Qaboos left Tehran for Muscat Tuesday morning at the end of a three-day official visit during which he held meetings with the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Hassan Rohani.

Asked if the issue of US was discussed during Sultan Qaboos talks with Iranian officials, Zarif said, Our friends had held talks with US authorities and it is an issue sometimes discussed during talks. However, our position is fully clear and is the same as it was repeatedly announced by the Supreme Leader and President.

Noting that good agreements were made during Sultan Qaboos visit to Iran, Zarif said the agreements will positively affect Tehran-Muscat relations in all fields.

He said Sultan Qaboos meetings with the Supreme Leader and President Rohani were very constructive.

According to Zarif, the two sides discussed major bilateral, regional and international issues.

Tehran hopes the talks would also improve regional status, stressed the minister.

Commenting on the visit to Iran of the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffery Feltman whose visit coincided with that of Sultan Qaboos, Zarif said, Feltmans presence in Iran was by no means related to the visit of the Sultan of Oman.

Zarif added that Feltman came to Iran as a UN official to discuss regional developments.
