UNESCO Story Collection Project 2013 selects Iranian story
The UNESCO Story Collection Project has selected the Iranian writer Borzou Saryazdis creationThe Song of the Cityfor its 2013 program.
Translated into English by Iraj Esmailpour QouchaniThe Song of the Citynarrates the story of children who try to practice musical scores by colors, and plan to play a musical piece according to the colors of their city.

Organized by UNESCOs Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU), the project is also to present the works by two other authors Arul Vadivelan PonnusamysThe Green Hopefrom Malaysia and Mariyam NihazsAb Haras Dreamfrom Maldives.

This years EIU Story Collection Project seeks the stories with the themes of cultural diversity, conflict resolution, Peace, world heritage awareness, human rights and literacy.

Established in 2000, APCEIU has found storytelling to be one of the
most effective methods in educating children.

The center uses stories to educate children about the cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity of their own and other people.

APCEIU is also to strengthen regional and sub-regional capacities in planning and implementing a broad range of practices in EIU.
