Commander asks university students to keep vigilant against enemy's soft war

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of Iran's Basij (volunteer) Force Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi called on university students and academic circles to be vigilant against the enemies new wave of soft war targeting Iran's academic centers.

Owing to the fact that science is the tool for the acquisition of power in every society, the enemies are trying to blow a strike on the Islamic Republic of Iran through its universities, Brigadier General Naqdi said on Wednesday.

He cautioned that enemies and the world arrogant powers are trying to strike heavy blows on Iran's Islamic establishment since the Islamic Republic would never compromise with the enemies of Islam.

Irans progress in scientific fields is so wide that its prospect scares the superpowers," Naqdi stated, and continued, "And with the scientific progress of the country to be followed by the expansion of (Iran's) power, the arrogant powers will definitely have no way out but to admit their defeat in the end."

"Owing to the very same reason", the Iranian Basij commander said, "the main concern of the countrys elites is that the enemies have focused all their hostile plans on our universities."

Brigadier General Naqdi in January called on the nation to keep vigilant against the conspiracies and plots hatched by the enemies, reminding the complex nature and complicated aspects of soft war.

The enemy has come to full-scale soft war against Iran, Naqdi said at the time.

Addressing a group of Basij members, he said enemies try to employ all facilities such as satellite and facebook and cultural inroad to divert the Iranian youth from the path of the Islamic Revolution.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has also on many occasions warned against enemies' soft-war plots against Iran's resolve towards progress.

In November 2009, he underlined the necessity for proper measures to repel enemy's soft war against Iran.

"Today, the main priority of the country is to confront (enemy's) soft warfare which is aimed at creating doubt, discord and pessimism among the masses of the people," Ayatollah Khamenei said, addressing a large and fervent congregation of Basij (volunteer) forces at the time.
