Rouhani promises to heed recommendations of Expediency Council

Tehran, Aug 17, IRNA — President Hassan Rohani said on Saturday that his government will heed recommendations of the Expediency Council and other constitutional bodies.

Rohani made the remarks in a meeting with the members of the Expediency Council.

Late Imam Khomeini founded the Expediency Council to break legal deadlock may appear in handling the state affairs and to address critical issues, he said adding that the body has a very remarkable status in the Islamic system in light of considerable studies it carried for different parts of the government.

Expediency Council is the powerful advisor for the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and is source of blessing for serving the nation, he said.

Rohani expressed the hope that the presence of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani as chairman of the body and the pillar of the Islamic revolution to help attain the revolutionary goals.

Close cooperation between government and the Expediency Council help expedite process of carrying out the state affairs with success, he said.
