Indonesian cultural exhibition to be mounted in Tehran
An exhibition of Indonesian cultural works is scheduled to be mounted in the Iranian capital of Tehran to introduce this Asian countrys heritage.
The festival will make Iranians to be acquainted with Indonesia and the variety of its culture, said the Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran Dian Wirengjurit.

The event will include various programs such as exhibitions of traditional costumes and art pieces, film screenings, performing traditional dance and songs.

The festival will also showcase a collection of the images of the countrys historical monuments and remarkable spots.

Indonesian Minister of Culture and Tourism along with a delegation of artists are programmed to travel to Iran for the incoming festival, Wirengjurit announced.

The planned festival aims to strengthen ties between Indonesia and Iran, he also noted.

Several groups of Indonesian archaeologists and cineastes are also slated to accompany the delegation. They are planning to launch series of collaboration with Iranian tourism and cultural experts.

Indonesia, the worlds biggest Muslim-majority nation of 240 million people, is hailed as a bastion of moderate Islam

Organized by the Indonesias embassy in Iran, the festival is set to take place in three locations including Milad Tower, Andisheh Cultural Center and the ambassadors official residence in Tehran.

The festival is scheduled to kick off on September 9 and will run until September 24, 2013.
