TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iran's iron ore output rose by 5 percent in the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year (started on March 20), hitting 11 million tons.
7 major Iranian companies, namely Chadormalou, Gol Gahar, Central Iron Ore, Sangan, Sirjan, Jalalabad and Mishdavan, all are affiliated to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), have produced 11, 058, 468 tons.
The amount had totaled 10, 530, 445 tons in the similar period last year.
Iran's iron ore output rose 4 percent more than the scheduled figure (10, 648, 772 tons) during the period.
