Iran president due at Majlis to defend nominations for Cabinet
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is set to appear to before the Majlis to defend his choices for the positions of the 11th countrys administrations Cabinet.
Rouhani will attend Majlis session on Monday in which the Iranian lawmakers will discuss votes of confidence to his proposed Cabinet members.

During his first press conference on August 6, Rouhani said he had chosen his cabinet based on their competency, the countrys conditions and need for experienced people.

We felt that we do not have time to make mistakes once again and there should be people with enough experience and expertise in the Cabinet, Rouhani added.

Irans presidentunveiledthe proposed list of nominees for his Cabinet during his inauguration ceremony on August 4 in Majlis.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei endorsed Rouhani for a four-year term in office as Irans new president in a ceremony on August 3.

Rouhani won the June 14 presidential election with 50.7 percent of a total of 36, 704, 156 ballots. Voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent.
