Molla Nasreddin folktales to be adapted into animations
Iranian animation artists have planned to produce animation series adapted from the famous Middle Eastern folktales on Molla Nasreddin.
The screen production, titledThe Adventures of Molla Nasreddinhas been programmed to be in a 21-episode series.

Despite Molla Nasreddins fame in many countries such as Turkey, Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and even Bulgaria, the character has rarely been the subject of a film, said the producer Ali Moallen.

Many scholars believed that Nasreddin was born in the Iranian city of Khoy in West Azerbaijan Province and had his education in Khorasan.

Molla Nasreddin is known under various names amongst a number of nations such as Nasreddin Efendi in Central Asia, Molla Nasreddin in Iran and Azerbaijan, and Nasreddin Khoja in Turkey.

Directed and written by Jamal Rahmati, the project is estimated to be released in October, 2013. The early stages of the production started few months ago.
