Iranian President Hassan Rohani has underlined the necessity of improving bilateral and regional relations between the Islamic Republic and Kuwait.
During a Sunday meeting with Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Tehran, Rohani said obstacles in the way of expanding Iran-Kuwait ties must be removed as soon as possible.

Rohani further stated that Iran seeks to enhance ties with the brotherly nation of Kuwait and described the Middle East as a very significant region which has been grappling with different conflicts in recent years.

He called for strong ties between all regional countries to stop wars, conflicts and violence.
When there are conflicts and problems, foreign elements come to the region and use all sides of the conflict to their benefit, which is bad for the region, Rohani said.
The Kuwaiti official, for his part, conveyed a congratulatory message to Rohani on his election and inauguration as Irans new president from Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Kuwait City counts on the Iranian presidents strategic views on regional issues, Sheikh Sabah said.

The Kuwaiti minister travelled to Iran to take part in the swearing-in ceremony of Irans new president, which was attended by Iranian officials as well as foreign dignitaries on Sunday.

On Saturday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei formally endorsed Rohani for a four-year term in office.
