'Iran, Belarus must promote economic ties'

Irans ambassador to Belarus has underscored the importance of enhancing economic relations between Tehran and Minsk.
Economic cooperation between Iran and Belarus is beneficial to both countries and incorporates mutual interests, said Mohammad-Reza Sabouri at a Monday meeting with Kanstancin Sumar, regional governor of Brest province in southwestern Belarus.

Our main objective is to remove the existing obstacles in the way of commercial cooperation between the two sides and we will witness enhanced cooperation in this area after the problems are solved, he added.

Sabouri pointed to the high level of political ties between Tehran and Minsk and noted that trade ties between the two countries are not satisfactory at this level.
New potentials must be found for the expansion of such cooperation and in this regard there is good prospect for presenting Belarusian products in Iran, the Iranian diplomat said.
Sumar, for his part, hailed the idea of expansion of cooperation between Iran and Brest province and expressed preparedness to fulfill that aim.
