Iran futsal team trounces Iraq 12-3 in Asia tournament

National Iranian mens futsal team has recorded another striking victory this time against Iraq at the group stage of the 2013 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in South Korea.
Iranians crushed the Iraqi squad 12-3 in a match played at the Songdo Global University Campus Gymnasium in South Koreas northwestern city of Incheon on Friday.

Irans Ali Asghar Hassanzadeh opened the scoring only ten minutes into the match. A few moments later, Iraqi player Ali Jabbar Abed seized a perfect chance to draw the match.

Hassanzadeh doubled Irans lead in the 12th minute, and Vahid Shafiei scored the third goal for Iran in the 16th minute. Shortly afterwards, Shafiei seized another golden opportunity and put the ball into the back of the net to make it four for Iran.

Seyyed Ali Kiaei scoreed Irans fifth goal in the 21st minute. Mohammad Taheri, Hossein Tayyebi, Alireza Vafaei, and Qodrat Bahadori scored Irans other goals in the 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th, 31st, 34th and 39th minutes.

Waleed Khalid Fahem al-Mayali scored two goals for Iraq -- one in the 26th minute and another in the 38th minute.

National Iranian mens futsal team is in Group D along with Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

Earlier in the day, national Iranian womens futsal team defeated Hong Kong 5-0 in a match played at Incheons Songdo Global University Campus Gymnasium.

Nasimeh Sadat Gholami, Sepideh Zarrin-Rad, Niloufar Ardalani, Paria Norouzi- Motlagh and Soheila Molmoli-Tarazeh scored Irans goals in the 3rd, 15th, 19th, 24th and 33rd minutes.

National Iranian womens futsal team is in Group A together with Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
