Russia wants Siberia to launch cooperation with Iran’s Yazd province

TEHRAN (FNA)- Representative of the Russian Federation’s Siberia Zone and Russian consul-general in Iran called for strong cooperation between Siberia and Yazd province.

The Russian officials made the call during a visit to development projects in Mehriz city of the Yazd province in Central Iran.

Russian Consul-General Mostafa Billi termed Yazd and Siberia as industrial hubs of Iran and the Russian Federation, respectively, and called for increasing cooperation between the two regions.

Iran and Russia have vast cooperation in different fields, specially in political and economic spheres.

The two also enjoy special position on the international scene and have long held constant consultations on key regional and global issues.

Russian banks are participating in schemes to finance Iranian oil exports, which are the target of US and European sanctions against Tehran, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said in February.
