Iranian MP: Enemies plotting to create rift among Muslims
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian lawmaker condemned the recent killing of Shiite Muslims in Egypt by Takfiri groups, reiterating that such attacks by the enemies are aimed at creating rifts among Shiite and Sunni Muslims.

Takfiri groups Sunday killed four Shiites in Egypts village of Zawiyet Abu Musalamon near the Pyramids of Giza.

One of the most important plots hatched by the West against the Muslim world is sowing discord among Muslims , Karaj MP Mohammad Javad Koulivand said.

He noted that the criminals behind the attack should be confronted and brought to justice in a bid to prevent recurrence of similar crimes in future.

Iranian parliamentarians on Tuesday condemned the recent massacre of Shiite Muslims in Egypt, and called on all Islamic scholars to mobilize against the dangerous Takfiri movement.

The Islamic world Ulema (scholars) are duty-bound to mobilize against the dangerous deviation of the Takfiri movement regardless of their religion and uproot it by struggling against the Takfiri plot, the parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said in a statement.

The statement came after Sunday's attack in the village of Zawiyet Abu Musalam, near the Pyramids of Giza, in which about 30 Shiites were having a meal to mark a religious occasion. Hundreds of young men descended on them in the house.

In online videos of the killings, young men armed with metal and wooden clubs, swords and machetes, beat the Shiites on the head and back, trapping them in the narrow entrance of the house.

The Islamic Consultative Assembly (the parliament)s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission condemns the Takfiri's crimes in Egypt and other countries, the statement added.

The Iranian legislators also asked the Egyptian government to consider maximum punishment for those behind the Sunday attack against Shiites.

Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi on Monday condemned the brutal killing of four Shiites in the country, saying the culprits must be swiftly brought to justice.
