TEHRAN, Jun. 22 (MNA) – Iranian films “A Cradle for Mother” and “Fat Shaker” will be screened in the noncompetitive sections of the 35th Moscow International Film Festival, which opened on Thursday.
Directed by PanahbarkhodaRezaii, “A Cradle for Mother” will be shown in the Russian Trace section.
The film is about Narges, a young girl who graduated from Moscow Universitywith a degree in Russian literature and is nowa student at a theological school. She wants to go back Russia to teach students who converted to Islam.
“Fat Shaker” will be screened in the 8 1/2 Films section.
The film directed by Mohammad Shirvani tells the story of an obese father who tries to con money from women with his young and handsome but deaf-and-dumb son.
The film won one of the three Hivos Tiger Awards at the 42nd International Film Festival Rotterdam in February 2013.
The Moscow film festival will come to an end with announcing winners on June 29.
“So Simple”, an Iranian family drama directed by Reza Mirkarimi, won the Golden George for best film at the 30th Moscow International Film Festival in 2008.
