Irans president-elect has called on media, including the Islamic Republic of Irans Broadcasting (IRIB), to help spread the climate of peace and tranquility created in the wake of the country's June 14 presidential election.
An ideal opportunity has been created to promote peace in the country and resolve the [Iranian] peoples problems, and media, including the IRIB, are expected to make efforts to maintain and further this opportunity, said Dr. Hassan Rohani in a meeting with IRIB President Ezzatollah Zarghami on Thursday.

Rohani said the Iranian nations high turnout in the June 14 election created a political epic, adding, "The looks in the country must be set upon the future."
Efforts should be made to realize the ideals of Irans Islamic Revolution through the path of moderation, Rohani stated.
Zarghami, for his part, congratulated Rohani over his victory in the presidential election, and voiced the IRIBs readiness to cooperate with the next administration.

The IRIB president said Rohanis election win was a great chance for the country.

Rohani secured an outright victory in Irans presidential election by garnering more than half of the 36.7 million ballots cast.

Nearly 50.5 million Iranians were eligible to participate in the presidential election. The voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent, according to the Interior Ministry.
