Saudi Arabia, India, Tunisia congratulate Iran President-elect Rohani

Saudi Arabia, India and Tunisia have extended congratulations to Iran's President-elect Hojjatoleslam Hassan Rohani on his victory in the countrys June 14 election.
Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud sent a congratulatory message to Hojjatoleslam Rohani, wishing him and the Iranian nation success and prosperity.

Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also congratulated President-elect Rohani on his victory in the Islamic Republic's 11th presidential election.

In a Tuesday letter to Rohani, Singh noted that Iran and India enjoy historical bonds, which have laid the foundation for a broad-based and mutually beneficial relationship.

He expressed hope for the further enhancement of ties between Tehran and New Delhi.

In addition, Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki extended his congratulations to the Iranian president-elect on Tuesday, wishing the Iranian nation glory and further progress.

Hojjatoleslam Rohani emerged victorious in the presidential election of June 14, which was marked by a high voter turnout, winning 50.7 percent of a total of 36,704,156 ballots counted.

The voter turnout in the election was 72.7 percent, according to Irans Interior Ministry.

Nearly 50.5 million Iranians, including more than 1.6 million first-time voters, were eligible to participate in the presidential, and city and village Islamic council elections.

Hojjatoleslam Rohani currently represents Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the Supreme National Security Council and is also a member of the Expediency Council and the Assembly of Experts. He is also the director of the Expediency Council's Center for Strategic Research.
