Iran, Indonesia to enhance media relations

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ramin Mehmanparast has stressed the importance of expanding cooperation with Indonesia in the media sector.
In a meeting with his Indonesian counterpart Abdulrahman Fakhir in Jakarta on Tuesday, Mehmanparast expressed readiness to invite Indonesian media and cultural delegations to Iran in order to establish closer ties between the two nations.

Mehmanparast, who is also the head of Foreign Ministrys Center for Public and Media Diplomacy, emphasized on expanding the two countries tourism industries and bolstering mutual media cooperation.

Mehmanparast further referred to the Islamic Republic of Irans presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), saying the two countries can use the potential of their membership of NAM, the Group of Eight Developing Countries (D8), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), to help develop cooperation beneficial to Muslim countries.

The Iranian official also said Iran's June 14 elections were held in a perfect transparent atmosphere despite the Western propaganda ahead of the elections.

Fakhir congratulated Iran on holding its 11th presidential election and he called for the expansion of bilateral ties between the media sectors of the two countries.
