16 Iranian pilgrims killed in Baquba bomb attack

Sixteen Iranians are among several pilgrims killed in a terrorist bomb attack that hit their convoy in an Iraqi city north of Baghdad.
The incident occurred on Friday morning when an explosive-laden vehicle detonated in Muqdadiyah, which is located about 90 kilometers north of Baghdad.

Nearly 20 people were killed when the blast ripped through the bus as the vehicle packed with pilgrims was heading for the holy city of Najaf.

At least 45 other people, many of them Iranians, were also wounded in the bombing.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the deadly bombing.

The terrorist attack comes on the heels of Thursdays deadly shootings and bombings that left at least 10 people dead and over 50 injured across Iraq.
