Rezaei vows to use win-win plan to resolve nuclear issue

Independent presidential candidate Mohsen Rezaei says enemies use Irans nuclear energy program as a pretext to disrupt the countrys foreign relations, vowing to use a win-win plan to resolve the nuclear issue.
By using strong diplomacy and a win-win position, we can pass through this phase and preserve our national dignity, Rezaei told reporters on Saturday.

He emphasized that Iran would not allow enemies to exploit the nuclear energy program.

Rezaei also vowed to counter the negative effects of sanctions against Iran and make those who think about imposing bans on the country reconsider their behavior.

The United States, the Israeli regime and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program with Washington and the European Union using the false allegation to impose a series of illegal unilateral sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

Tehran rejects the allegation, arguing that as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

Rezaei is competing against Tehran Mayor Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, President of the Center for Strategic Research of the Expediency Council Hassan Rohani, lawmaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, former Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Velayati, former First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref, and former Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Gharazi.

On June 14, Iranians will cast their ballots at over 66,000 polling stations across the country to choose their 11th president. Expatriates will be also able to vote at 285 polling stations that will be set up in their respective countries.

The president of Iran is elected for a four-year term in a national election.
