TEHRAN, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Portuguese Nelo Vingada will assist Iran's national soccer coach, Carlos Queiroz, in Iran's three upcoming matches in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, Tehran Times daily reported on Wednesday.
"I'm Queiroz's good friend. I want to help Iran to advance to the World Cup, that's why I am here. I believe that Iran can qualify for the competitions," Vingada was quoted as saying.

Iran will face Qatar in a must-win game on June 4 in the Qatari capital Doha. The country will also play Lebanon and South Korea on June 11 and 18 respectively.

Iran is third in Group A with seven points. Uzbekistan leads the group with 11 points with one game more, followed by South Korea with 10 points.
