Everyone should vote in election, reformists say
Iranian reformist groups and factions have called on the nation, and particularly their supporters, to vote in next months presidential and city council elections.
On Saturday, Reformists Front spokesman Majid Mohtashami said the group will have a conference this week to announce their official position on the upcoming presidential election.

The front has yet to pick a standard-bearer, and everything will depend on whether or not they decide to support a particular candidate, he added.

Three reformist presidential candidates will be competing against one independent and four principlists in the election.

On Tuesday, the Iranian Interior Ministry announced the list of candidates approved by the Guardian Council to run in the countrys 11th presidential election, which will be held on June 14.

The eight political figures approved by the Guardian Council are MP Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel, former Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Velayati, Supreme National Security Council Secretary Saeed Jalili, Expediency Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei, Hassan Rohani, the director of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council, former First Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf, and former Telecommunications Minister Mohammad Gharazi. The eight candidates were approved after a 10-day vetting process.
