Iranian ambassador to BiH visits Srebrenica

Iranian ambassador to BiH visits Srebrenica
The new Iranian Ambassador to Bosnia HAS paid a visit to Srebrenica and Memorial Center Potocari. This, after Seyyed Hossein Rajabi met with Chairman of Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina last week. During his visit Rajabi met with Head of the Islamic Community. The two sides discussed the circumstances in which Muslims are living in this municipality. Meanwhile, the Iranian envoy urged unity in Bosnia regardless of religious and ethical background.
Later, Rajabi met with the Srebrenica Mayor Camil Durakovic where they talked about possible cooperation between Iran and Bosnia in the fields of culture, economy, politics and science. The two also stressed the importance of boosting relations between Srebrenica and Bosnia.

Before returning to Sarajevo, Iranian delegation visited Memorial Center Potocari and held a meeting with mothers of Srebrenica where they expressed their deepest sympathy with genocide victims and their families.

Bosnian Serb forces attacked the UN-protected zone, Srebrenica on July 11, 1995, leading to a killing of more than 7,000 Muslim men and boys. These monstrous crimes were later declared as genocide.

The Iranian ambassadors visit to Srebrenica highlights Iran's sympathy with all those genocide victims and their families. This visit is yet another confirmation of good and friendly relations between the two nations.
