Iran ready for more AALCO cooperation

Irans Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi says the Islamic Republic is ready to cooperate with the Asian-African-Legal Consultative Organization (ALCCO) to contribute to the promotion of the organizations objectives.
Salehi made the remarks in a Saturday meeting with AALCO Secretary General Rahmat Mohammad.

AALCO can adopt favorable legal measures within the framework of its authority and duties to [help resolve] the current crises in Asia and Africa, Salehi said.

The Iranian diplomat said the potentials of AALCO must be taken advantage of to settle regional issues.

The AALCO secretary general, for his part, expressed gratitude for the Islamic Republic of Irans strong and continued support of the objectives of the organization.

Stressing that the organization has always held good consultations with Iran, Rahmat Mohammad expressed hope that the two sides could continue their relations and meetings in order to help the achievement of the organizations objectives.

The Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) is an international governmental organization formed in 1956. It serves as an advisory body to its member states in the field of international law and as a forum for Asian-African cooperation in legal matters of common concern.

The organization has a standing United Nations invitation to participate as an observer in the sessions and the work of the General Assembly.
