Veteran Iranian scholar Parviz Marzban passes away
Prominent Iranian scholar of visual arts and translator Parviz Marzban, has died of natural causes at the age of 96 in the capital city of Tehran.
Marzban who was known as the living encyclopedia of visual arts translated many books into Persian.

He also wrote several books such asPictorial Dictionary of Visual ArtsandSummary of History of Art.

Born in 1917, Marzban studied French language and literature as well as English language. He taught Persian, French and English language and literature in several educational centers in Tehran.

He also taught history and art criticism at Iranian universities for over 30 years.

Meaning of Beautyby Eric Newton,The Story of Civilizationby Will and Ariel Durant,The Arts of Persiaby R.W. Ferrier,History of Artby Anthony F. Janson andVarieties of Visual Experienceby Edmund Burke Feldman are some of the books translated by the late scholar, Marzban.

Parviz Marzban passed away at Tehrans Atieh hospital on April 25, 2013.
