P5+1 to respond positively to Irans proposals: EU official
A senior EU official says the P5+1 group of world powers intends to give a positive response to Irans proposals as discussed during the first round of talks between Tehran and the P5+1 in the Kazakh city of Almaty,Press TVreports.
You have put on the table a revised proposal at Almaty back in February, and now we want to give a clear and concrete response to that proposal, and a positive response, Michael Mann, the spokesman for the European Union's Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton told Press TV on Thursday.

Manns remarks come as Iran and the P5+1 -- the US, Britain, France, China, and Russia plus Germany -- are set to start their second round of talks in Kazakhstans former capital city of Almaty on Friday.

The two sides have already held several rounds of talks the last of which took place in Almaty on February 26-27.
Lets be absolutely clear. Nobody is denying the right for Iran or any other country to have nuclear technology for medical purposes or energy purposes, Mann said.
The EU official added, What these talks are about is addressing the international communitys very clear concerns that have been highlighted by the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) and the UN with regards to Irans nuclear energy program.

The US, Israel and some of their allies claim that Iran is pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program, with the US and the European Union using the false claim as pretext to impose illegal sanctions against Iran.

Tehran rejects the allegation over its nuclear energy activities, maintaining that as a committed signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency, it has the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
