KARACHI: Iran President Mahmud Ahmadinejad on Monday expressed resolve to complete Pakistan-Iran gas pipeline project. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the project, he said; It is a historic day for Pakistan, Iran and the region, success could be achieved through determination and resolution
He said that Islamabad was extending cooperation to Tehran in agriculture while the Islamic republic would provide electricity to Pakistan. We have to work together for progress and prosperity of our people and we can resolve regional issues though dialogue, the president said.
He said the pipeline would bring closer the two countries, adding that the project could be expanded to north Pakistan.
