US sanctions murdering Iranians in cold blood: US professor
A political analyst says the United States is murdering Iranians in cold blood by imposing tough sanctions on the Islamic Republic,Press TVreports.
We are treating Iran very terribly. We need to end the military terrorism threats. We need to end all sanctions immediately, Paul Sheldon Foote, a professor at California State University, told Press TV in an interview on Monday.
Were murdering Iranians who fly in Boeing jets because they cant get spare parts. We are murdering Iranians who cant get medicine or cant afford it because weve destroyed the foreign exchange rate, Foote stated.
The American professor denounced the US call for talks with Iran amid its threats of war and further sanctions as childish and outrageous," noting that "actions speak louder than words."

We certainly didnt behave that way with the Soviet Union when [Soviet leader] Nikita Khrushchev threatened to bury us. We kept diplomatic relations and trade with the Soviet Union, Foote recalled.

On Monday, Iran Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi expressed optimism that the White Houses offer to hold direct talks with Iran could be a sign of change in the US administrations approach to Tehran.

Salehi, however, expressed doubt over the US new gesture and said it was still very hard for Tehran to trust Washington.

Foote agreed with Tehrans distrust regarding the US call for negotiations, given Washingtons long record of hostilities against the Iranian nation.

I used to work at the American Embassy in Tehran. There are plenty of Americans who love Iran, and people who would be thrilled to work there again someday. This is the message that needs to be sent out by any honest American government, he concluded.
