Iranian MPs sign motion to impeach labor minister
According to Mehr, Eighteen Iranian MPs have signed a motion to impeach Labor and Social Affairs Minister Abdolreza Sheikholeslami for appointing Saeed Mortazavi as head of Social SecurityOrganization despite the rule of Administrative Court for dismissing him.

 


Official: punishment of machete attacker fit the crime
Sadegh Larijani, Head of Irans Judiciary pointing to reactions to public hanging of machete attacker in Iran said on Wednesday that punishment of the two fit the crime. They were convicted of Moharebeh (waging war against God) and corruption on earth.

 


Iranian Cmdr remarks over killing of Salam Rushdie
Commander Ahmad Zolghadr, the deputy head of the Tehran Revolutionary Guards, has said in aspeechin Mashhad: If we had acted on the fatwa of the late imam [Khomeini] and had killed Salam Rushdie, insult against the Prophet of Islam would not take place, Fars reported.

 


Bahmani: Majlis probe on Central bank led to rial fall
Irans Central Bank governor, Mahmoud Bahmani said on Wednesday that Malis willing to probe Centarl bank led to drop of rial sharply on the open market. Meanwhile media reported previously that speculation the head of the countrys central bank could be sacked in a row over his mismanagement led to rial fall.
