Sardar-e Jangal oil field, which is located in the Caspian Sea, belongs to Iran, Arannews.ir quoted Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Ghasemi as saying.Responding to Azerbaijans claims regarding Sardar-e Jangal oil field, the Iranian Oil Minister said, This is just an allegation. Currently, we carry out exploration works in that oil field. Sardar-e Jangal is in Irans territory and belongs only to Iran.
Iranian media reported earlier that Iran had discovered two big oil fields in the Caspian Sea in 2012, whose oil was among the top quality oil products in the world.
The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) made a statement saying that Sardar-e Jangal oil field was located in the waters belonging to Iran and the Azerbaijan Republic had no share of it.
