Moscow to run cultural week in Tehran

Irans Minister of Culture Mohammad HusseiniIBNA:In the meeting Irans Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Husseini asserted that vast cultural potentials in Iran and Russia should be tackled in order to promote relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, a protocol was signed by Tehran and Moscow to hold the Russian cultural week in Iran in 2013. Husseini marked Russian former culture ministers visit from Iran in 2010 in which it was agreed that Irans cultural week would be held in Russia in 2012.

Husseini further voiced Irans preparedness to host the Russian cultural week in the year 2013.

An Iranian cultural delegation led by Husseini traveled to Russia in October to attend an Iranian cultural week, which was held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

During Irans cultural week in Moscow, exquisite books by Iranian authors were displayed in various book fairs and artistic works were presented in arts galleries.

Husseini further thanked Russians for its warm welcome for Iranian delegation in their land.

Persian language has many fans in Russia and there are currently numerous linguists working on the language in Russian universities and academic centers. Likewise a new field of study about Russian has been established in Iran to work on the country from different angles.

In Iran, Russian literature including books, novels and fictions works by Russian literati has had their fans. Many Russian works have so far been rendered into Persian and some Persian books are translated into Russian, added Husseini.

He went on to say that Iran is ready to publish works by Mr. Vladimir Medinsky in Persian.

Husseini further underscored the necessity of cultural attach in developing relations between countries, and said that Iran has sent representatives to 7 Quranic contests in Russia so far. In the Islamic Republic of Iran an international Quran exhibition is held every year in which the latest Quranic products are showcased. We are prepared to hold the same exhibit in Russian societies.

Elsewhere in the meeting, the Iranian culture minister invited Medinsky to the ECO cultural week to learn more about Iran.

For his part, Medinsky asserted that Iranians are so much intrigued by movies about the former Soviet Union; therefore, he proposed that the movies be broadcast on Irans national TV during Russias cultural week.

He also announced that Russia is adding a book about the 100 best movies in the world in Russian schools, and invited Iran to offer its best products thereof.
