TEHRAN, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) — Iran exported 492 million U.S. dollars worth of pistachios in the first eight months of current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20, Tehran Times daily reported on Monday.
The exports of Iranian pistachios showed 0.89 percent fall in value compared to the same period in the previous year, said the report.
Pistachio exports accounted for two percent of Iran’s total exports in the 8 months.
Iran is the leading exporter of pistachios with some 54 percent of global exports.
