Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has censured political reports by International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) about Tehran’s nuclear energy program, saying the Islamic Republic has no plans to build a nuclear bomb.
“Since the Islamic Republic of Iran has no atomic bombs, and will never seek it, and considers such weapons ineffective, it has no concern,” Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Sweden’s new ambassador to Iran, Peter Tejler, on Monday.
He added that exerting pressure on the UN nuclear agency to publish “political” reports on Iran would not solve any problems.
The Iranian chief executive noted that Iran has always been ready for talks and has shown the highest degree of cooperation with the IAEA.
