TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- Deadly flood and typhoon have claimed at least nine lives in southern Iran, the state IRIB TV reported on Tuesday.
After the heavy rains in the past days, storm and flood ravaged parts of Iran's southern provinces of Fars, Bushehr and Khouzestan, and at least nine people were killed and several others injured, said the report.
The incident led to the overflow of rivers in Kazeroon city in Fars and the temporary closure of local schools.
The heavy rains in Bushehr also damaged the roads in different regions, and cut water and power network in Borazjan and Dashtestan cities; while the flood in Khouzestan disrupted traffic flow in Abadan and Khorramshahr cities, according to IRIB.
