Russian deputy foreign minister to visit Iran for talks on Syria

TEHRAN, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) — Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov will pay an official visit to the Islamic republic to hold talks with Iranian officials on Syria, Press TV reported Sunday.

Bogdanov is going to visit Tehran at the invitation of Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir- A>

Amir-Abdollahian visited Moscow in August and held discussions with Russian counterparts on regional developments.

Iran and Russia are the regional allies of the Syrian government and opposes the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad resignation under Western pressures.
