Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will attend to New York to take part in UN General Assembly annual meeting on Sep.21, Director General of the International Affairs Department at Presidential Office Mohammad-Reza Forghani told Fars News agency on Sunday.
“The coordination of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to the U.S. is carrying out, the travel date might change one day early or late,” he said.
The U.S. promised to issue visa for Ahmadinejad and Iranian delegation members who have diplomatic passport, but the case of issuing visa for other delegation members would be determined by Tuesday.
Iranian president has visited New York to take part in UN General Assembly seven times so far. Ahmadinejad’s presidency began in 2005, he was reelected as Iran’s president in 2009 for first time.
