Iran and 5+1 group (the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China, and Germany).The announcement was made during a press conference in Tehran held by Salehi and his Nicaraguan counterpart Samuel Santos Lpez in Tehran on Sunday.
Referring to Saeed Jalili's letter to EU Foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton, Salehi said Iran proposed Istanbul as the venue of talks in the letter, and this has been accepted by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and Ashton who represents the 5+1 group.
Iran's Foreign Minister stated that the goal of new round of nuclear talks is seeking a mechanism to get a win-win outcome for the two negotiating parties.
The last round of talks between Iran and the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council plus Germany were held in Istanbul in Jan. 2011 but ended in failure.
Ali Akbar Salehi affirmed that "we will go to the meeting with a positive attitude and good will. I hope that the other side will show good will as well."
Tehran's Ambassador to France also said that talks will bear fruit if West respects Iran's rights as stipulated in the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
